FOCUS Doctrinal Basis of Faith
This consists of the fundamental truths of Christianity as contained in the Holy Bible. They are:
- The unity of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit in the God head.
- The sovereignty of God in creation, revelation, redemption, and final judgement.
- The divine inspiration and entire trustworthiness of the Bible as originally given and its supreme authority in all matters of the faith and conduct.
- The Universal sinfulness and guilt of all men and women since the fall, rendering them subject to God's wrath and condemnation without respect or discrimination of persons on account of colour, race, nation, social position or otherwise.
- Redemption from the guilt, penalty, dominion, and pollution of sin solely through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ (as our representative and substitute) the incarnate Son of God the Father
- The bodily resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead, and His ascension to the right hand of God the Father
- The justification of a sinner by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
- The presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the believer.
- The expectation of the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- The one holy and Universal church to which all true believers belong and the unity of all believers in Christ.

FOCUS Staff and Students
FOCUS staff work to encourage student initiative and enable students to reach other students with the gospel. This is done through training, mentoring and discipling student leaders and fostering student links across the country and the world.
FOCUS staff join hands with FOCUS Associate Trainers' Teams (FATT) and STEM staff in reaching students. FAT Teams are groups of professionals in a district who volunteer to train students. The STEM volunteer programme enlists young graduates who set aside one year to work with students on campuses full time. STEM stands for Short Term Experience in Ministry.
